Boston Trip

Thinking back on our trip to Boston, there is one photo that I saw in a studio in South Boston that really stands out in my memory. One man had a few photos that his grandfather had taken in China 100 years ago. There was one that kind of struck me for some reason. It had a sepia coloring to it and it was a landscape of fields with this winding road that twisted and turned off into the horizon. There were people with animals, probably donkeys, horses, or cows on the road. The road and the fields were in focus, but the people were very blurry. This really showed the motion of the people, which I thought was really cool. The contrast between the soft, light focus of the scenery and the dark, blurriness of the people was really powerful. I don’t have a photo of this photo but here’s a picture of Boston!

Drag Show

On Friday I went to the drag show in the Chapel. I had never been to a drag show before so I really had no idea what to expect. It was absolutely hilarious, and I thought it was really cool that they actually had a professional drag queen come! It was so funny seeing people from Wheaton dress up in drag and their performances were great. The a cappella groups also performed and they dressed up as the opposite gender. They were awesome as well, as always. I am definitely happy I went and I think it is great that we have our own drag show on campus.

Home Sweet Home

This past weekend was October break and I got to go home for the weekend! It was so great to eat real food again, see my cats, visit with friends, and of course see my parents. I missed home and Portland a lot more than I realized. Fall is my favorite time of year so it was awesome to see all the beautiful foliage and sit by the fire drinking tea. I also went on a couple walks and took a couple of trips downtown to go in my favorite shops and eat some good food. It was a really good weekend, but I’m ready to head back to school tomorrow!
